It's about how my wife, Petra, and I interacted with the people we met and the places we walked through on this pilgrimage. It's also about the path itself and its many faces. And it's the story of our internal pilgrimages through our souls, minds, hearts, and spirits as we walked that external path through Germany, Austria, and Italy to Rome.

To put it in a broader perspective, this book is about how we celebrated this ten weeks of our lives and some of the things we want to take from it to enrich our ongoing pilgrimage of life. And as we tell our story we drop a few hints on how you might use some of what we learned when you choose to take a similar pilgrimage.

Germany to Rome in 64 days: Our Pilgrimage is printed in two interior formats: black and white (B&W) and color. We recommend the B&W format; that is how I wrote it. The basic black & white version is $21.95. Buy it and get all our words and pictures in black and white. You need nothing more. Color options

Now I know some of you may want to see the photos in this book in full color. Printers charge for color. And those charges can be high. I have prepared three color options for you who must have color photos. They are listed below from the least expensive to the most.

  • The pdf download file $6.25: this is the full version of the book in pdf format. You download it from lulu.com, the publisher. This pdf file has all the pictures in color. The download file gives you the advantage of color without having to pay dearly for a printed version in color. And with the download file you get the additional advantage of being able to enlarge the pictures and text far beyond either printed version. Order it from the same page where you order the book.   • The color photo companion book $27.95: This book has with only the color pictures in it. I designed it as a companion to the B&W book. Because it does not have the text, it is much shorter and consequently less expensive than the full version in color.

  • The color version $76.95: This is the full color version of Germany to Rome in 64 days: Our Pilgrimage. It has the same content as the R&W version but with the pictures in color. I am making this available to you who want to have the book in complete color. But as you can see, it is much pricier than the black & white version. (I don't even have a copy for myself at this price!)
